Bogdanka included in the Respect Index for the ninth time

The Warsaw Stock Exchange yet again nominated new laureates of the prestigious RESPECT Index Rating. This time, 28 public companies were included in the new index and for Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. it was already for the ninth time. Publication of the new index will begin on 18 December 2017.  

Respect Index’s portfolio covers Polish and foreign companies from the Main Market of the WSE which operate in accordance with the best management practices in terms of corporate governance, information governance and investor relations, while also taking into account environmental, social and employee-related factors. The evaluation of companies and revision of the Index’s composition take place once a year, in its second half. It lists companies which undergo a three-step verification by the WSE and the Polish Association of Listed Companies, with respect to the areas listed above, as well as an audit conducted by Deloitte, the partner of the project.

Bogdanka has been yet again distinguished by the membership in the RESPECT Index for the respect to the natural environment, actions for the benefit of development and safety of employees and local communities, as well as corporate governance, information governance, and investor relations.


“The business social responsibility have for years made an integral part of Bogdanka’s development strategy. We always treat this matter very seriously. It is also of great importance for our Strategy until 2025 that we announced in February 2017. Therefore we are happy that it’s already for the ninth time that our endeavours have been noticed and rewarded by the inclusion in the RESPECT Index,” said Krzysztof Szlaga, President of the Management Board of Bogdanka S.A.

In 2017 LW Bogdanka also won the Deloitte’s competition: Central European Sustainability Report Award 2016 (Green Frog Award) for its Integrated Report 2015 and was included in the group of laureates of the 1st edition of the Transparent Company of the Year 2016 ranking organised by the “Parkiet” daily and the Polish Accounting and Tax Institute, under honorary auspices of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
