In connection with the Company becoming aware of a resolution of the Supervisory Board of LW Bogdanka S.A., we hereby inform you that on 23 November 2012 the Supervisory Board, acting under Article 25.1 of the Company’s Articles of Association, adopted the resolution on appointing Mr Zbigniew Stopa to the position of the President of the Management Board.
Supervisory Board’s Statement of Reasons:
Having conducted interviews with candidates proposed by the human resources manager, the Supervisory Board has unilaterally adopted a resolution on appointing Mr Zbigniew Stopa to the position of the President of the Management Board. Mr Zbigniew Stopa has been with the Company for 28 years, and since 2006 he has been the Member of the Supervisory Board. For the last two months he has been performing as the acting President of theManagement Board. The Supervisory Board is convinced that Mr Stopa will succeed in meeting the challenges the Company is currently facing.
Zbigniew Stopa graduated in 1984 from the Faculty of Mining at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków with an M.Sc. Eng. degree in Mining and Geology, specialising in Deposits Exploitation Technology. In 1997, he completed postgraduate studies at the Central Mining Institute in Katowice in the field of Occupational Health andSafety Management.
Zbigniew Stopa’s career has always been connected with Lubelski Węgiel BOGDANKA S.A., starting from an underground internship and leading to the position of the Manager of Mining Works. He participated in numerous training and other courses, he also completed a course for candidates for members of Management Boards in companies wholly owned by the State Treasury.
Zbigniew Stopa is not entered to the Insolvent Debtors Record maintained under the Act on the National Court Register of 20 August 1997.
