The Management Board of Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. (“Company”) hereby reports that on 14 September 2022 it became aware of updated production assumptions for 2022 and decided to make them public.
In longwall 3/VII/385, which was launched on 31 August 2022, there was a sudden and unexpected increase in operating pressure, resulting in a squeeze. The mining in the longwall achieved a progress of 55 running meters and there were no problems with floor buckling. The progress achieved was in line with the assumptions at this stage of mining. The longwall was constantly monitored by a pressure control system in the supports of the powered support sections.
The Company has taken measures to free the squeezed sections and resume mining. Given the scale of the phenomenon, these measures are technically and organizationally complex. At the same time, we would like to inform you that work on the launch of longwall 2/II/382 is proceeding according to the approved schedule.
Due to the emergence of sudden and unpredictable impediments to mining, which objectively could not have been prevented or counteracted, the Company has decided to update its commercial coal production plan, which it announced in Current Report No. 18/2022 dated 2 September 2022, setting it at approximately 8.3 million tons.
